We are seeking applications from dedicated and hardworking professionals with a desire to work in a successful, thriving and supportive secondary Academy making a positive contribution to both our Technology and PE Departments as a Technician. You will be required, in each department, to help set up equipment, support lessons and carry out any administrative tasks required. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given for the right candidate.
To be successful, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and a genuine desire to help contribute positively to the lives of our young people. This is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development.
This role is 24 hours per week, term-time only. The hours are allocated as 19 hours per week in Technology and 5 hours per week in PE. We are flexible with working hours allocation, and these hours can be worked over three to five days per week. Working days and times can be agreed on appointment.
Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools.
We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.
