Job Overview

Are you an experienced and passionate educator looking to inspire and support students in achieving academic success? We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IGCSE Tutor to provide high-quality, face-to-face tuition in English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics to students across Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional tutor or teacher who is enthusiastic about working one-on-one with students to build their confidence, improve their understanding, and help them achieve their full potential in these core subjects.

We are looking for a subject specialist (or specialists) who can deliver engaging and structured tuition to students preparing for their Cambridge (CAIE) or Edexcel IGCSE exams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in one or more of the listed subjects and be able to tailor their approach to meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide structured and engaging tuition sessions in one or more of the following IGCSE subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring lessons are interactive and student-focused.
Help students develop critical thinking skills, exam techniques, and confidence in their subject areas.
Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to them and (where applicable) their parents/guardians.
Prepare students for IGCSE exams, ensuring they understand the syllabus requirements and key assessment objectives.
Provide homework support and additional learning resources where necessary.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A strong academic background in one or more of the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, or Physics.
Experience teaching or tutoring at IGCSE level Edexcel syllabus preferred
A degree in a relevant subject or a teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent is desirable but not essential).
An excellent understanding of exam techniques and how to support students in reaching their target grades.
The ability to break down complex topics into clear and accessible explanations.
A patient, supportive, and engaging approach to teaching.
Strong organisational skills, punctuality, and professionalism.
A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
